What Does “Limited Scope” Mean?

Your attorney is responsible only for the task you define and pay for.

You remain responsible for the other parts of your case unless they are part of your package.

For example, if you hire an attorney to represent you at a specific hearing, your attorney handles that hearing—but does not automatically handle every other part of your case.

Your attorney will explain exactly what is included in your service before you begin.

Is FlexCounsel™ Right for You?

FlexCounsel™ may be a good option if you:

  • Need help with a specific legal issue
  • Want an attorney to review a document or agreement
  • Have an upcoming court hearing
  • Have an uncontested family law matter
  • Are representing yourself but want legal guidance
  • Don’t need an attorney to handle your entire case

Some cases require full legal representation. If your situation is complex or requires ongoing representation, we’ll let you know and discuss your options.

Clear Pricing. Focused Legal Help.

You shouldn’t have to hire an attorney for everything when you only need help with one part of your case.

FlexCounsel™ gives you access to experienced family law attorneys for specific legal services—with clear pricing and a defined scope of work.

Frequently Asked Questions

FlexCounsel™ is Wright Family Law Group’s service for providing Limited Assistance Representation (LAR) and other focused family law services.

Instead of hiring an attorney to handle your entire case, you can receive legal help with a specific service or issue.

Limited Assistance Representation is a form of legal representation where an attorney helps you with specific parts of your case rather than handling the entire matter.

Your attorney is responsible only for the task you define and pay for. You remain responsible for the other parts of your case unless they are part of your package.

Start with a consultation. We’ll learn about your situation and help determine whether FlexCounsel™ is appropriate and which service best fits your needs.

Yes. The prices listed are flat fees for the specific services described. Your attorney will explain what is included before you begin.

If your needs change or your matter requires additional work, your attorney will discuss your options with you before additional services are performed.

Yes. FlexCounsel™ can provide legal guidance while you continue to represent yourself, including preparation for certain court matters.

No. Some matters require full-service representation or may not be appropriate for limited assistance. We’ll let you know if FlexCounsel™ is not the right fit for your situation.

No. An attorney-client relationship is established only after the firm has completed its intake process and you have entered into a written engagement agreement.

Disclaimer: FlexCounsel provides Limited Assistance Representation under Massachusetts Trial Court Rule XVI and the Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct. Representation is limited to the scope defined in your signed scope addendum, and no attorney-client obligation exists beyond that scope. You remain responsible for all parts of your case outside the defined scope, including filings, deadlines, and communications with the court. For court appearances, the firm files a Notice of Limited Appearance and, on completion, a Notice of Withdrawal of Limited Appearance. Engagement requires a signed fee agreement, scope addendum, and informed consent, plus cleared payment, before work begins. No outcome is guaranteed.
